1.I hope you never have to go through any situation that requires getting an insurance company involved, but life happens, so make sure the pet care provider you choose has reputable insurance. Did you know that you can even ask for proof of coverage? A professional pet care provider will have no problem showing you their insurance card or a certificate of liability insurance. 2.What kind of certification/education does the sitter have? pet sitters should be pet lovers, but that’s not enough. Find out if they have any pet care training: Pet First Aid, CPR, etc. For our clients’ peace of mind, all Chicawoof dog walkers and pet sitters are pet first aid certified.
3.Don’t skip the meet and greet: most companies offer a free meet and greet, during this time make sure you provide your sitter with as much information about your pet, home access, key handling as possible. This is also a great time to ask the sitter specific questions like how long are they going to spend with your pet and how they plan to take care of your furry friend.
